Suter Art Gallery -Nelson City's main Art Gallery

With more than 300 registered artists in the Nelson/ Tasman district there is always something new and different to see.

While at the Suter Art Gallery you can plan the rest of your exploration of the regions artists and craft studios – walking maps are available for the ones in town, driving maps for those on the outskirts of Nelson

 Nelson is home to hundreds of talented people, which gives it the reputation as the arts and crafts capital of New Zealand. - potters, painters, jewellers, woodturners, glass blowers etc etc.

WOW - World of Wearable Art Complex

The event may have moved but the best of the last 10 years shows are on display right here in Nelson. Check out the amazing garments and classic cars at the WOW Complex. Great lighting, music and moving models make this more than just looking at creative fashion garments. Art you can wear created from diverse and exciting materials including shell, wire, paper mache, paua, wool, plastic etc etc.

Nelson City Museum

The Nelson Provincial Museum is located at the corner of Trafalgar Street and Hardy Street, just a minutes walk from our Hostel.The museum provides an insight into the natural and human history of Nelson. There are two main gallery spaces featuring permanent and temporary exhibitions, a classroom, museum shop and rooftop garden. Admission to general galleries is free.

Bead Gallery

If you're into beads or making jewellery or just feel like being a bit creative then the Bead Gallery is for you. The Bead Gallery is located in a cute little cottage right in town.
